Ways to Give – Have a Heart for Sadler!

Whether it’s an appeal to help fund a special project or general operating support, your gift will have an immediate impact on the patients we serve and the community at-large. Because of you, we are able to empower and equip our patients to lead healthy lifestyles.

Your support ensures we can continue to provide broad access to affordable, quality health care, without regard to our patients’ ability to pay.

Cash or Check

Checks can be made payable to Sadler Health Center.

You may designate your gift by indicating a specific fund in the memo line. Gifts without fund designation will be treated as “unrestricted donations” in accordance with our gift acceptance policies.

Donations may be made online (see donation form) or mailed to:

Planned or Estate Gifts

Planned gifts are a simple and wonderful way to support Sadler Health Center’s continuing mission.  However, they require some planning and, often, help from your professional advisors.  Unlike, cash donations, they are typically made from assets in your estate rather than disposable income, and come to fruition upon your death.

Including Sadler Health Center in your will or estate plans is a wise way to make a meaningful impact on the health of our community. You maintain control of your assets now, while giving you the satisfaction of knowing your legacy will support better health and wellness for your neighbors, friends, and families.

You may designate a specific dollar amount, percentage of your estate, or assets to Sadler Health Center, which are paid with the execution of your will. You also have the option to make your gift unrestricted – and it will go where it is needed most – or to direct it to a program that is important to you, such as capital needs, medical, dental or behavioral health services or staff development.

Bequests

“Where there’s a will there’s a way. Consider leaving a legacy to memorialize your important values.”

Making a bequest is a straightforward process that your personal attorney can assist you with. Here is the basic language that your advisor will need to incorporate in your documents:

I give and bequeath to Sadler Health Center, a Pennsylvania not-for-profit corporation, the sum of ____________ Dollars {or % of estate or all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate} to be used for _________ purposes of Sadler Health Center.

Sadler Health Center’s tax ID number is 54-2082673.

Qualified Charitable Distributions from IRAs

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD), also known as an IRA charitable rollover gift, allows individuals who are aged 70 ½ to make an outright gift from an IRA to Sadler Health Center and exclude it from taxable income.

Qualified charitable distributions can maximize your charitable giving. A QCD may satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year the gift was made, helping you avoid a higher tax bracket that might otherwise result from adding an RMD to your income. This may be a good strategy for you if you are required to take money from your IRA but do not need it for living expenses.

To qualify, you must be 70 ½ or older at the time of the gift, distributions must be made directly from a traditional IRA account by your IRA custodian, and distributions must be made directly to Sadler Health Center. Distributions cannot be made to donor-advised funds or used to fund gift annuities. The maximum annual amount that qualifies for a QCD is $100,000; however, if you file taxes jointly, your spouse may make a QCD from their own IRA in the same year up to $100,000.

Each financial institution has its own process for QCDs. Donors should consult their financial advisor and IRA custodian to initiate a charitable contribution from their IRA. To begin, your IRA custodian will need the following legal identification:

Sadler Health Center
100 North Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013

Tax ID Number: 54-2082673

We are happy to help you in planning your gift in a way that best suits your needs – please reach out to us with any questions you might have by calling our Development Department at (717) 218-6670.
