Cumberland County, PA — A new health center is on the cusp of being built in Cumberland County.
Sadler Health is opening a brand-new facility in Mechanicsburg, offering patients a variety of services under one roof.
Director of Development, Laurel Spagnolo says the new facility will increase the number of people they can help.
“This is so exciting because we are potentially going to double the amount of patients, we can serve in Cumberland County and beyond.“
Spagnolo estimates about 20 percent of the Mechanicsburg population is underserved.
“People need our services and we need to be here.”
She says 22K square feet of space is being repurposed to transform an empty warehouse on Trindle Road into a medical mall.
“We knew there was a great need here and we knew we needed to grow, we were just looking for the right place at the right time and here we are.”
Primary care, dental, vision, mental health, and pharmacy services will all be provided under one roof.
“Someone can come here and go from appointment to appointment all in one building.”
Sapgnolo says the price tag on the new facility is 6.5 million dollars; but grants and private donations have already raised half the amount.
“We are kicking off a capital campaign to raise funds to assist with the renovation of this building.”
And though Spagnolo admits staffing shortages could create a headache, “We will keep filling holes, and plugging holes and doing what we need to do.”
She predicts the facility will also add more than 60 jobs – while providing a critical resource the community can be proud of.
“We can be your medical home for everything.”
Construction is expected to start in Spring of 2022. Sadler Health hopes to have it open by the start of 2023.
