Sadler Health Center’s New West Shore Location Set to Open December 4th

CARLISLE, PA (Nov. 27, 2023) – Sadler Health Center, a federally qualified health center serving Cumberland and Perry counties, today announced that its new health center at 5210 East Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, is set to open on Monday, Dec. 4. The new health center will offer primary care, dental care, behavioral health care, lab services, a pharmacy and vision care all under one roof.

Initially, the primary care portion of the new health center will be open to patients. The rest of the 21,800-square-foot facility and its other healthcare services are scheduled to open in January.

“At Sadler’s new West Shore health center, patients will receive state-of-the-art and comprehensive care provided by professionals who have a heart for community healthcare,” said Sadler Health Center Chief Executive Officer Manal El Harrak. “They’ll also benefit from convenience, as the new health center will serve as a one-stop-shop for care including a pharmacy and even vision care.”

Registration information to become a new patient, including a patient handbook offered in multiple languages, can be found on Sadler Health’s website by clicking the “Accepting New Patients” button. To make an appointment, patients can call (717) 218-6670 or (866) SADLER7.

The decision to add a health center on the West Shore was the result of a 2019 needs assessment that Sadler conducted of healthcare access in the area. Sadler’s study revealed that over 88 percent of low-income individuals in Cumberland County are underserved or do not have access to healthcare. Once Sadler’s West Shore health center is fully operational, the organization expects it will grow to serve over 8,000 patients in the county.

“Sadler’s mission is to provide affordable, accessible healthcare for everyone including patients who are uninsured, underinsured or have government-sponsored insurance like Medicaid or CHIP,” El Harrak said. “The goal of our new West Shore health center and our entire organization is to make sure that anyone in our community who needs primary healthcare services has access regardless of their income or insurance status.”

As a federally qualified health center, Sadler also offers patients a sliding-scale discount program. The program offers reduced costs for services based on household size and income.

Sadler’s new West Shore health center will have 23 exam rooms and eight dental suites. Patients will conveniently be able to get lab tests and fill prescriptions on the spot. Additionally, the health center will feature a vision care center that provides eye exams and a wide selection of affordable eyewear. It also will have an Express Care Center with a separate entrance for patients who require urgent care services.

The site of the West Shore health center, which was formerly home to a manufacturing company, was selected to be as accessible as possible for patients to visit. It is located along a Capital Area Transit bus route and most individuals identified as underserved in the area are within a 15-minute drive.

Funding to develop the new health center was provided through private donations as well as public support at the federal, state and county levels.

Sadler Health is actively recruiting professionals including physicians, nurses, medical assistants and dental assistants and a variety of other staff for the new West Shore center. Sadler employees enjoy competitive pay, generous leave, and weekends and evenings off. For information on current job openings, visit the employment page on Sadler’s website.

In addition to its new West Shore health center, Sadler has a health center at 100 North Hanover Street in Carlisle and a dental office at 1104 Montour Road in Loysville.
