April’s Story
April has been receiving pediatric services at Sadler for nearly a decade. Routine tests weren’t revealing the problem, but our Medical Director Katrina “Kat” Thoma refused to give up.
When insurance denied a CT scan, Kat advocated directly with a pediatric hospitalist. The scan revealed multiple polyps and a rare genetic defect, which turned out to be early-stage cancer that could have gone unnoticed. Because of persistent support – and donors like you – April received life-saving treatment in time.
Today, April is thriving. Her story shows what happens when personalized attention and community support come together.
