Sadler Health Center Completes Renovation Project in Carlisle

Community health center increases medical exam room capacity by 21%

CARLISLE, PA – Sadler Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center providing community-based comprehensive primary care, dental care, behavioral health and support services at its facilities in downtown Carlisle and Loysville, announced today that it has completed a renovation project at its health center located at 100 North Hanover Street in Carlisle.  The project includes the addition of five exam rooms which increases examining capacity by 21%.

By reconfiguring existing space in the health center, Sadler was able to add two labs and examination rooms, three of which are negative pressure rooms that will keep patients with infectious illnesses or patients who are susceptible to infections, safe and distanced from patients, visitors and healthcare staff.  The lower air pressure in the room allows outside air in while pushing existing air out of the room and through a filtration system.

“As the cold weather months were approaching, it was important for us to take measures to isolate sick patients,” Manal El Harrak, Chief Executive Officer of Sadler Health Center, said. “Previously, testing for infectious diseases were conducted outside.  Now, we have the capability to offer sick patients a convenient and accessible vital service that will help decrease the added burden of these patients having to seek care at local emergency rooms.   This renovation project reflects our continued commitment to the safety of Sadler’s employees and valued patients,” she added.

According to El Harrak, Sadler Health Center recently received a grant that also allowed the center to acquire and integrate Needle Point Bipolar Ionization technology into the renovation project.  The gold standard technology safely inactivates pathogens and cleans the air.  The industry leading ionization process from Global Plasma Solutions (GPS) effectively neutralizes SARS-CoV-2 and leads a 92.6% inactivation rate at 15 minutes, and 99.4% inactivation rate at 30 minutes virtually eliminating the virus from the air.

“As we look forward to celebrating Sadler’s 100th anniversary in 2021, we remain committed to increasing access to integrated, high-quality and compassionate health care in a way that is as safe as possible for the communities we serve.  The expanded capacity this renovation project has provided will allow us to care for more patients in a safer environment during a global pandemic while providing a more convenient, enhanced and patient-centered experience,” El Harrak explained.
